1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions
Preheat oven to degrees F.
Grease and flour a x13 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, stir together the melted butter and sugar.
Beat in the cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Stir in the flour until just combined.
Do not overmix.
If using, stir in the chopped nuts.
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Bake for -minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting and serving.
Recipe Notes & Tips
For extra fudgy brownies, bake for a shorter amount of time. For cake-like brownies, bake for a longer amount of time. You can also add chocolate chips to the batter for an extra chocolatey flavor.
