Instructions
- Bring 1 inch of water to a boil in a large skillet or Dutch oven. Add green beans, cover, and steam until bright green and crisp-tender, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain well.
- Wipe out the skillet. Add olive oil and heat over medium heat until shimmering. Add garlic and red pepper flakes and cook until garlic is fragrant and lightly golden, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add the steamed green beans to the skillet. Toss to coat with the garlic and oil. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the green beans are heated through.
- Stir in parsley, chives, dill, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
Tips & Notes
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of sugar to the steaming water. If you don't have fresh herbs, you can use 1 teaspoon of dried herbs (such as thyme or oregano) instead, but add them with the garlic.
