Instructions

  1. Season beef with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add beef and onion; cook until beef is browned and onion is tender, about 5-7 minutes, breaking up beef into crumbles.
  4. Drain off any excess fat.
  5. Stir in diced tomatoes, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  6. Add cabbage; stir to combine.
  7. Cover and cook over medium heat until cabbage is tender, about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Tips & Notes

For a spicier dish, increase the cayenne pepper to 1/4 teaspoon.
